|FOR ALL YOU DO!|
Sunday, October 30th, is World Priest Day.
I think it is a great opportunity for us to reflect on how our priests minister to us, provide the sacraments, and are a significant part of our lives.
We should definitely do this more than once a year but I think by Sunday we should all do something to encourage our priests and let the bishop know they are doing a great job. Here are some suggestions that we can do individually and/or get our families involved with:
1) Send a hand written letter to your bishop telling him that your parish priest(s) are doing a wonderful job, with specifics.
2) Send the same kind of letter to your priest(s) directly.
3) Invite them over for dinner or offer to take them out.
4) Pray for them. Here is a specific prayer for the day:
We come before you today to ask your blessing on our brothers,
Whom you have called to the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
We ask that you support them with your presence
And fill them with grace to serve You faithfully.
Unite us in service with those whom you have called.
Open our hearts to encourage our brothers and sons to pursue your calling,
And open their hearts to hear Your call to this most Holy Sacrament.
